ENERGY STAR Qualified Commercial Clothes Washers

Please be aware of the following:

On January 1, 2004, the ENERGY STAR criteria for clothes washers changed. To qualify for ENERGY STAR, a clothes washer must have a minimum Modified Energy Factor (MEF) of 1.42. Before January 1, 2004, the minimum MEF was 1.26. MEF is an equation for Energy Factor that takes into account the amount of dryer energy used to remove the remaining moisture content in washed items. Products manufactured before January 1, 2004 that qualified for the previous criteria, and do not qualify under the current criteria, may still be labeled with the ENERGY STAR logo and retailers may continue to promote these products as qualified until June 30, 2004. You may find such products in the retail stream.

Models that appear (in parenthesis and in red) have been discontinued, but may be still available in stores. Discontinued models may appear on this list up to a year after their last production date.
